Comparative evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of different dosages of Glancin (tamsulosin) in the treatment of patients with lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia

BACKGROUND: Alpha-blockers are the first-line treatment for elimination of symptoms impaired urination due to benign prostatic hyperplasia. At same time, focus is not only on efficiency, but also safety their appointment.
 AIM: Comparison efficacy and tolerability alpha1-blocker tamsulosin at a dosage 0.2 mg twice day 0.4 once in patients with hyperplasia presenting mild moderate LUTS.
 MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study based results examination 90 hyperplasia, aged 50 80 years. In 1st group (n = 45) received day, 2nd day. duration was 4 weeks.
 RESULTS: both groups, according IPSS questionnaire, statistically significant decrease severity obstructive irritative symptoms, an improvement quality life, increase maximum urine flow rate, volume residual were revealed. When comparing dynamics clinical indicators no differences found between groups. tolerance somewhat better group, which manifested itself smaller number adverse events from cardiovascular system ejaculatory function disorders.
 CONCLUSIONS: demonstrate taking dose characterized by therapy.
